While much of the country is deep into fall, we here in Southern California have been bouncing between seasons. Some days are cold and damp, other days see temps that soar into mid-summer. But this morning when I got up I saw that our ‘winter sky’ had finally arrived. This is about the only time of year we get these incredible sunrises and sunsets. So I know, at long last, we really are seeing the seasons change.
I remember when we were kids that Halloween was most often brisk, to say the least. This year I had the fan on as @SilverRavenTarot and I did a two-hour Halloween evening delivering messages from Beyond the Veil.
The event went incredibly well, with awesome feedback. However, we were both exhausted from doing (at my best guess) about 30+ readings. I shuffled cards so often that by the next day I had blisters on both of my thumbs!

Reviewing the Cosmic Slumber Tarot
Liminal11.com just released both limited and standard editions of the Cosmic Slumber Tarot. If you’ve never heard of this company, pop over to Insta and begin following them. They are producing amazing work of a quality we don’t often see.

The Tarot Spread I’m Currently Working With
Since today really feels like the last day of Indian Summer, I created a Changing Season Spread that you might want to use. The positions are:
1. Card to represent the new season – King of Pentacles
2. How can I blend my energies with the season’s energies? – The Hanged One
3. Challenge I might face this season – 8 of Torches (Wands)
4. Surprise of the season – Judgement
5. How might I change over the course of this season? 9 of Swords
Using Cosmic Slumber Deck
Reading the cards this tells me I’m going to have a productive Fall with ample financial reward. However in order to really blend my energy with the season I’m going to need to SLOW DOWN! This cracked me up since my challenge is the 8 of Torches (Wands). So a cautionary tale – I have to take things much slower or burn-out is on the horizon.
I rather like the Surprise (I think) as Judgement, for me, is always about rebirth. So something that I thought was off the table or gone will revisit me. Hoping this is a GOOD surprise. The last card is about how I might change over the course of the season. The 9 of Swords tells me that by Yule season I will be doing far less worrying (a nasty Virgo habit). I’m also hoping it means I’ll be getting better sleep.

Divination, Decks, Classes
There’s an interesting Kickstarter that has 14 days to go and has already raised more than $46K of $11K needed. It’s called the Magpie’s Lenormand. I’m not sure what it is about the deck, but I couldn’t resist it. Good thing I’m taking a Lenormand class right now!
Christiana Gaudet is teaching a two-hour Zoom class on the Tarot Courts. The class is on Thursday, November 19, and is $37.50. Information here.

Mind Body Green had an interesting article on the Moon (Major Arcana XVIII). Definitely worth a read. I’m not crazy about the site’s pop-ups, but since it only took a couple of minutes to read the article, I survived 🙂
Benebell Wen just posted a review of the Edgard Allan Poe Tarot by Rose Wright and Eugene Smith. I know Cartomancer editor, Amber Highland is a fan – so this might be a deck worth checking out.

My friend, Alison Cross, finally released a paper version of her digital book on the Wildwood Tarot. Although I have the digital, I bought the paper because I can easily flip to today’s date to see the corresponding Tarot card/s.Right now we are in the Ace of Stones (Pentacles) and King of Stones period. Think about that one – the beginning and the culmination. I think I need to get in gear! This version is an update of the digital. Alison said the updated digital version will be available in December.
