City Oracle

I’m Creating a City Oracle

I’m pretty sure I’ve written about this before – but in case I haven’t – for the last year or so I’ve been working on creating a City Oracle. I take photos while out on my walks, then print them and attach them to blank cards. One of these days (sooner rather than later) I’m going to have them printed for real. At that point you’ll be the first to hear about it!

I’m wondering – without my telling you about each picture – how would you interpret these two cards? No fair reading further until you’ve come up with an interpretation!

What They Represent to Me

The card on the left is of a building filled with people who do emotional healing. So for me it represents digging deep into old or new wounds, finding a path to healing.

The second is a fountain in the courtyard at the Park. It is a Native American woman pouring water from the jug sitting on her lap. Although the statue/fountain is beautiful there is a sadness about it too. The Native tribes where I live were never treated with the harshness of those on the Northern or Southern Plains. However, they were not treated particularly well when the Spanish missionaries arrived hundreds of years ago.

So, does she represent rising from the ashes and prevailing, or does she represent the loss of a way of life? I’ll let you decide that one for yourself.

Thank you in advance for leaving a comment. Would love to hear what you think.
