The World is an Oracle
One of my Christmas presents from @Fred_punkofprophecy and @wyrdgifts1 was a deck of story cards for kids. The idea behind it was that we can all make oracles out of anything. And I mean anything.
So I sat down on the floor, shuffled and drew three cards with the intent of getting information on a situation I can’t seem to solve. What’s up with that, anyway?
Card 1 is The Situation – what’s the energy of my being stuckness?
Here we see a bird flying away from a castle. I think the situation is me trying to get my brain out of box type of thinking. That castle is pretty solid and that bird looks pretty happy flying away, don’t you think?
Card 2 is What to Do – what is right action for me as it relates to this situation?
Now I’m not sure if the owl has on a postal worker’s cap or a police cap. But he’s definitely a ‘night owl’ (groan!), wide awake and perched up high. The message I’m getting is: To solve this issue, I’ve got to change my perspective. Look at it from a new angle and seriously, if I can’t sleep, get up and see what pops into my brain. BTW, did you notice both cards 1 and 2 picture a bird?
Card 3 is What NOT to Do – the action not to take
This raccoon looks like he’s running away from some mischief he’s made. Did he steal that thread? AHH, I just got it! He’s looking back over his shoulder. The message is DO NOT LOOK BACKWARDS! This project is not based on the past, so don’t be looking there for help.??
Try to Find an Everyday Oracle
Now that you see that any type of card (or stones, or flowers, or your junk mail!) can be an oracle, give it a whirl. Let me know what you create.
If you’re on Insta, tag @nancysageshadow so I can see your found oracle.
Agreed! I frequently use playing cards with quotes and/or pictures as oracle cards. I’ve also used cards from the game Dixit. And I haven’t tried this, but I’ve heard of people using Loteria cards for reading.
