Ancestral Magic
It’s also a BIG day for Ancestral Magic. The manuscript went off late yesterday to Judika Illes, my editor. You may know Judika for her many books on spells and magic, including her new book which just launched: Daily Magic. I’ll be getting feedback in the next few weeks. The book will go through about three different editing sessions, then off on the conveyor belt!
Ancestral Magic will be released next year. I’ll let you know when pre-sales are available.

Reid also announces new spreads in her free newsletter. This is one of the latest – a great one if you’ve lost some of your spark over the summer (or Covid)
Past Lives: Astrologer Steven Forrest has a great article on Past Lives. He tells an amazing story of a little boy who remembered being a World War II fighter pilot. Past lives have fascinated me for decades. Fred West @fred_punkofprophecy and I studied one of Steven’s Books (Inner Sky). His book, Yesterday’s Sky, gets into reading past life info from your astrology chart. In looking at my chart, I’m pretty sure I was an undertaker! Read his article.
Tarot for Kids: My niece always loved playing with my Voyager Tarot cards. Now, there’s a deck made especially for kids. It’s done by our friend Theresa Reed and is available for pre-sales right now. It drops on September 21. My niece is grown up but we still have a little guy in the family. If you have one too, this could be a fun gift – not to mention you’ll be training a future tarot reader.
Tarot Deck Review: Even though Shadowscapes Tarot was released ten years ago, Benebell Wen just posted a fascinating review. Benebell also posted lots of photos so if you don’t know the deck you’ll be able to see nearly all the cards. It was fascinating to me that in the last paragraph she talked about getting out a magnifying glass so she could see all the detail. This is exactly why I also purchased the Shadowscapes Tarot app (iPhone) – I wanted to be able to enlarge the cards. There’s just that much detail.

Tarot and Timing: I don’t know any tarot reader who doesn’t hate being asked timing questions. Fortunately, Catherine Chapman did a fabulous job of deep diving into timing on her website. Even if you don’t need this info today, save it for your Book of Shadows. It’s priceless.
Birthstones: The Farmer’s Almanac had this neat post on the meaning of our birthstones. Sapphire (mine) is the “gemstone of creative expression”. Okay, I’ll go with that.
Free Ancestral Messages (Put This on Your Calendar)
Silver Raven Tarot @silverraventarot and I will be doing our annual Messages from the Ancestors on Instagram Live on Samhain, November 1 at 5PM Pacific, 8 Eastern. Silver and I go as long as possible to make sure everyone gets a message. I did so many last year that my thumbs hurt from so much shuffling! But the messages coming through were chillingly accurate! Silver will start the Live, so be sure you’re following her.
Wow, what a great start to September. I’m so sorry I’ve been remiss with the newsletter but honestly, Ancestral Magic took almost every bit of my time since June 1 until today. I’m so excited about re-launching my Patreon and hope to see you there!
