The SideWalk Oracle of Direction

When I first saw this compass while out on my daily walk, I thought it was telling me to make sure I was going in the “right” direction.

But the more I thought about it, I don’t think it had anything to do with “right”. Instead, it has to do with “just pick a path and get going”. Nothing is perfect, no way is THE way. Pick a way and if it doesn’t turn out as you thought, then pick a different path.

I saw this Oracle in San Diego’s Balboa Park. Interesting in that I had a plan to walk through the Natural History Museum. Instead, I headed for the Art Museum. There’s something there that I needed to see.
