Spinning the 5 of Wands
As the Hierophant is one of my Birth Pairs, I “own” all of Tarot’s 5’s. Lucky me.
Although the fives are definitely all challenging cards, I’d like to invite you to rethink them, beginning with the 5 of Wands.
Typically pictured with five young men sparring with their wands, the card is usually seen as one of competition. However, let me throw in a different spin.
What if the man on the far left (the one who is unengaged) is the Village Wand Master? And what if he’s teaching the other four how to use their passions (fire) but not let their passions use them? Based on the looks on their faces, what I’m seeing the four saying is:
–Am I doing this right?
–Crap, I’ll never get this!
–No, no! You’re not doing this right!
–Tell me how perfect I am
Questions for the 5 of Wands
As you look at the 5 of Wands, are you the teacher or the student?
If the teacher, what experience are you drawing on the gives you the needed expertise to teach about out-of-control passion?
If you’re the student, when have you let your passions control you?
